Corporate Social Responsibility

Since our establishment, guided by Kazancı Holding’s social and environmental values, we have shaped our activities with a strong awareness of our responsibilities towards society—the very source of our strength. At Aksa Natural Gas, we therefore monitor the social and environmental impacts of our operations across the regions we serve, while also developing initiatives that address local challenges and help improve the quality of life of local communities. We engage in open and genuine dialogue with local people to become an integral part of the communities in which we operate, while inviting all our stakeholders to embrace the values at the heart of our corporate culture. We place particular importance on ensuring that the contribution of our social responsibility initiatives is tangible, meaningful and sustainable. Rather than investing in short-lived projects, we focus on long-term initiatives designed to create lasting value and generate benefits that can sustain themselves over time. Across the social responsibility projects we develop or support, we will continue to demonstrate the same high standards of performance, care and commitment that guide all our activities.

Other Employee Volunteering Initiatives

Aksa Natural Gas Supports Archaeological Research

A sponsorship agreement was signed between the Çanakkale Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, acting on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Aksa Çanakkale Natural Gas Distribution Inc. to support the Archaeological Survey of Çanakkale Central District from the Neolithic Age to the End of the Iron Age, led by Asst. Prof. Dr Derya Yılmaz. The sponsorship covers project activities running from September through the end of December 2016 and throughout 2017, as well as publication work planned for 2018.

A Memorial Forest in Every Distribution Region

Through this initiative, we aim to create new forest areas across all our distribution regions, contributing to both the present and the future. As part of the project, our employees come together for tree-planting events to establish memorial forests. To date, 300 saplings have been planted in Afyon and a further 179 in Şanlıurfa.

Books, School Supplies and Clothing for Students

Aksa Natural Gas employees regularly visit schools across the regions in which we operate, providing books, school supplies, stationery and clothing to students in need.

Blood Donations to the Turkish Red Crescent

At blood donation drives organised periodically under the coordination of Aksa Natural Gas, our employees donate blood to the Turkish Red Crescent, contributing to an essential community need.

Visits to Care Homes and Child Welfare Institutions on Special Occasions

As part of Aksa Natural Gas’s corporate social responsibility approach, our employees visit care homes and child welfare institutions on special occasions, spending time with residents and children and offering their support.

Volunteers for Çanakkale

Employees of Aksa Çanakkale Natural Gas Distribution Inc., together with students from İntepe Primary School, launched the Volunteers for Çanakkale project to help foster greater awareness of environmental protection and the preservation of local history and cultural heritage within their community. As part of the project, employees and students visited the Turgut Reis Battery, where they watched a historical re-enactment prepared by Çanakkalegaz volunteers. They later took part in a tree-planting initiative in İntepe Forest, helping restore an area damaged by a wildfire the previous summer.
